Detailed Specifications
Pin and Installation Details
In addition to common double-row types with 10–100 pins, single-row versions are also available.
Some IDC (Insulation Displacement Contact) box headers support 6P–80P, suitable for various flat cable interfaces.
For through-hole types, besides standard heights, low-profile versions of 4.9mm, 5.4mm are provided.
For example, Jinling Electronics’ 180° through-hole type has a height of 5.4mm, ideal for compact assembly.
SMT types are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for automatic pick-and-place machines, improving mass production efficiency.
Electrical Performance Differences
Most standard versions have a rated current of 1A.
IDC types have a lower rated current of 0.5A, ideal for pure signal transmission.
Withstanding voltage levels:
Standard type: 500V AC for 60 seconds
IDC type: 250V AC
Insulation resistance is generally ≥ 1000MΩ.
High-end FFC-compatible versions can reach up to 5000MΩ, providing extremely low signal loss.
Temperature Resistance and Soldering Details
Standard PBT insulator: withstands 245℃±5℃ for 5 seconds
High-end PA6T insulator for reflow soldering: withstands 260℃
Operating temperature: -40℃ to 105℃.
Special versions extend to -55℃, suitable for automotive and outdoor electronics.
Exclusive Structural and Material Advantages
Structures for Special Processes
Some models with IDC termination can pierce cable insulation without stripping, greatly speeding up assembly, especially for mass flat cable wiring.
Certain FFC-compatible versions feature a latching structure to securely hold cables and prevent disconnection due to vibration.
They also support mixed mating with various PCB connectors, offering strong compatibility.
Targeted Material Selection
Contacts are made of brass or phosphor bronze, which provides excellent elasticity and stable contact after repeated mating.
Surface finishes:
Gold plating: for high-frequency, high-reliability applications
Tin plating: cost-effective for general consumer electronics
All PBT insulators meet UL94 V-0 flame retardant standard, reducing fire risks from short circuits.
Extended Applications
Beyond industrial control and development boards, this connector is widely used in:
Automotive electronics: signal interconnection between vehicle sensors and control modules
Medical equipment: internal precision circuitry of portable diagnostic devices
Communication equipment: internal wiring for switches and routers
Consumer electronics: internal flat cable connections in notebooks and tablets
Electronic DIY: customized wiring projects with flexible pin count options
